Teacher Writes "Loser" On Students Assignments....

So what the child learned that it is okay to hit someone who says something you don't like. Wow.

no but it'd be ok for me to punch his teeth out if he said it to my kids joking or not. That's a lesson there!!!!! Nobody messes with my kids in any inappropriate way.

lol 6 foster kids in home at the moment, had some grow up age out move out... Most of them have been in abusive situations of some sort either physical, mental, emotional verbal or sexual. The crap with the teacher joking or not........ the kids look up to them. Most of the time the teachers are the only ones they trust usually. To have one do this, as light hearted as it may seem, would set some of my kids back by years because of the loss of trust.

Only family and teachers can damage a kid so totally. Thats why I am a bit extreme.

No, the kid learned when a superior goes WAY over the the line he puts himself where you got 'em by the short hairs. That is not a bad thing for a kid to learn. Or an adult. Check mate. Game over. Life goes on for both on equal footing.

I just didn't realize that some kids can't take a joke. My child has always been very sturdy in that way. She can dish it out as well.

But then, she grew up with me.

Teachers are the first line of defense for kids. They often find the signs of abuse and neglect much sooner than anyone else. This is why its also so devastating when something like this happens. My school administration respects me, doesn't necessarily like me, but they know what my expectations are concerning the kids. We usually have things worked out before it turns ugly.

I hate when that happens. In the year of 2006 I was in a car wreck and unfortunately I broke my leg, my arm, and my face was 'messed up'. My leg, arm, and face were still hurting when I went back to school. For me it was 'the first day of school' since I wasn't there from the start. My english teacher saw that I was in pain and couldn't get up from my seat much but she didn't care. I sat at the very back of the room while she was at the front and she asked me "aren't you going to come to pick up your homework?" I was shocked and she repeated that again. It took me approximately 10 MINUTES (not kidding) to get up and get my homework and go back to my seat. I thought she was in a bad mood but everyday she was like that. I told my mom and she thought I was kidding till one day the teacher made me get up from my seat about 5+ times and I was angry so when I got out of school I called my dad and he talked to principal and the next day she had a 'better' attitude towards me. HA! someone was scared to lose their job

I should not be calling that student a kid, he was 16 when he did that. His dad was a dairy farmer and could have wiped the floor with both the teacher and the principal without breaking a sweat. (this was also about 22 years ago....)

The teacher who did this was very condescending to his students and deserved what he got in spades. Were either of them right? No, but it would not have happened at all if the teacher had been respectful to the student while grading the paper. And yes the student could have handled it differently as well.

Just wanted to give an example of what can happen when people don't think things through.

If it were my child the school better get their lawyer ready for a battle. I would want that teacher removed.
