Teacher Writes "Loser" On Students Assignments....

I doubt that any of the kids in the gifted program have learning disabilities. And joking typically is not considered verbal abuse. And, I am from the ghetto and my mom behaved with perfect decorum at all times. I resent your stereotype.

Ghetto, or dirt poor, whats the difference? Since we don't know where Sillystunt grew up, that'd be making an assumption. Folks in my family call me a hillbilly. That's because it's true and they know the meaning. Now if I had MR. fancy pants turning his nose up and calling me a hillbilly, I may take offense.. then again all my toys are paid for

All I'm saying is we can't make assumptions about each other, and for all you know Heather (silly) did grow up in the ghetto... ;(

I am not making any assumptions about where she grew up. All I know is that I grew up in the ghetto and I resent the implication that we are all loud mouths who are spoiling for a fight.

Interesting, your example of how being called a hillbilly differs based on the context in which it is meant perfectly explains exactly what I was trying to say about what the teacher did with the student. That was exactly what I was trying to say, and you said it perfectly.Thank you.

I know. It's a horrible double standard, but thats human nature. Wish we could all get along without any negativity, but that hasn't happened yet.

i lived in the ghetto for a long time..and everyone was definitely looking for a fight!
which is why we moved as soon as we could afford to do so.

and to be honest here...stereotypes exist for a reason.

My daughter was in the gifted programs, and she is dyslexic. It is very possible to be brilliant and have a learning disability. The teacher is the real loser. Teaching is like any other profession. 10% are outstanding. 10% are terrible. The rest fall somewhere in the middle. I do agree that we should keep ridiculous stereotypes out of the discussion.
