No, that holiday signifies the resurrection of jesus. Why would I celebrate it if im not a chrisitan?
From what I've heard it's a pagan spring fertility rite "holiday" that the Catholic Church tried to "christianize" by applying Jesus' resurrection to it. But it seems nobody really pays much attention to that anymore. It's all about the bunnies and the eggs and the candy, all of which have pagan roots in this so-called "holiday".

So I don't celebrate it really.

Not trying to sound rude, but I don’t think that’s right…. :)

Rather than sharing all the verses I found I'll just share one from the wisest man who ever lived.
18 I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath[c]; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”

He said who knows, so I won't worry about it. I do feel strongly that they go to heaven because God has made covenants with them, and it's stressed throughout scripture that we should treat them with love and kindness, he watches over them, he gave them individual personalities and they didn't cause the fall. What would keep him from restoring each and every one of them?

Many Americans celebrate it solely because it is a celebration and Americans like to celebrate…
The easter bunny, chicks, eggs, cake, and family traditions are enough for non-believers to set a day out for celebration. Many people don’t even know the real meaning of Easter.

Didn't the Israelites make the golden calf to worship the God who brought them out of the land of Egypt? That still made God mad. Yet to the Israelites they were worshipping Him in their own idolatrous ways.

So wouldn't that also apply to Easter? People say they are honoring Jesus, but they are using idolatrous ways to worship Him when God specifically said not to?

Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

We think in our hearts we're doing a good thing, but who truly knows their own heart? Only God knows it. Not even ourselves know our own heart.

Not here to start an argument. :idunno That's just what I know.
Let's put it this way-- I'm sure the early christians like the apostles celebrated Christ's resurrection, but they didn't celebrate "Easter" to my knowledge.

I agree with you-- but I've got a question about the golden calf. I thought they were grumping at Moses and the only true God for "leading them out in the wilderness to die" and I thought they set up the golden calf as worship to a pagan god, not the true one. Correct me if I'm wrong here.
