Tech Nerd Ramblings

I used the 2010 MacBook Pro 13-inch last night for a hour or so. Under 720p60 youtube with BYC open in the background, using the Chromium-Legacy browser, there were stutters, but playback was alright. Youtube bumped it down to 480p and from there the experience was just fine. The battery did drain to around 29% in the 1 1/2 hour span I used the thing though. The device struggles with getting a smooth framerate from a 1080p60 video though.

The screen is really nice to look at aside from its poor 1280x800 resolution.

not sure whether this counts as "tech" but here's a quad i built lol

have you tried running linux on the mac? it'll probably do wonders on a laptop that old

I did try Ubuntu Unity, WiFi card does not like to work well due to proprietary drivers, going to try some other distros at some point. Also, the GPU drivers do not support Linix anymore so it's a bit of a pain.
im not sure what you use the mac for, but building your own distro to run on it could be a cool side project :p
i did try it once a while back, it was a ton of work and my goal was really minimalistic but it was a great experience
