That's a nice upgrade.

Is the old system going to be re-purposed?
The bulldozer? I don't have a plan currently. It may just go up on the wall of fame as art. Pretty long in the tooth at this point, and the machine I'm using as a fileserver's even newer.

I just saw this...

I have this exact model. Now I want this, but it'd be a waste of money.

Upgrade complete. My rig and the kid's are both back together and running.

And here's the workhorse we're putting out to pasture. I really do think I'll build a frame for it and hang it as art. It's been a solid rig for years, and never once complained.

That looks great. Way better than mine, especially that cable management.

How's the AMD cooler in terms of performance? I've got an Intel stock cooler on my PC but it seems to run pretty hot.

Also, with power supplies, do you have a recommendation for a good, quiet PSU that I can swap the noisy one out with in mine? The one that is in there is 750W and I plan to throw it into a NAS build since the NAS stays in the closet.

It sits on my desk, it's gotta look good :p

The 5800XT is a 65 watt TDP chip. The wraith should handle it no problem, even full throttle for sustained loads. Worst case, I can get another AIO and put it on (the one I had went with the R5 3600 into the kid's rig). I seem to recall Intel's stock coolers being garbage for a long time. You might look at repasting it if you haven't.

This is what I have in both the machines I rebuilt today. Plenty of power, no coil whine, and fully modular. Been running them for a couple of years now and no issues.

Mine always sits on the side on the floor since I don't want to hear the fans going all the time :p. Not to mention the one clear side panel case I do have has very little room to make it pretty.

I did repaste it, before that it was hitting 90C in the BIOS. The stock cooler for LGA1150 is tiny compared to the one for my LGA1366 board.

The mounting mechanism is terrible too. I accidentally busted one of the stock coolers I had. It was fun :D. Looks cool on the shelf though.

I'll look into it. Good to hear it's got no coil whine since I tend to be able to hear that kind of stuff.
