Teen chickens?

Mine seem to segragate themselves. The Light Bantams stick together. The EE (although the hatchery sells them as Ameraucanas, they have green feet) stick together, and the black ones stick together. I have no idea what the black ones are but they are the fiendliest. There are two solid whites and a black one with red that hang out with the black ones.

The black ones all come around my feet and peck at them. They have started getting on my legs and shoulders when I sit in the coop.

Lots of chest bumping and stare downs going on with both sexes.

Ours (3) have started chest bumping, they are supposed to be hens and I wonered if maybe I had a cock, but it sounds quite normal LOL, it is fun to watch. The dust baths are excellent entertainment too!

Oh my gosh , the first time they took a dust bath outside , I honestly thought they were having a siezure!!!

mine are 6 weeks yesterday and are feathered nicely, my roos are still a little awkward but I already know which one I will keep. He lookes at me and tilts his head when I talk to them, I think he was the friendly chick. The others are still very skittish. The americaunas seem bossier than the rir's. This afternoon I went to feed and water, I lifted the lid on the pen they are in and turned around to get water when I turned back one was sitting on the top of the wall. I have to get a feeder asap as they keep knocking the homemade one over. I figured out how when I went out one day and someone was sitting on top of it. I left them out in a fenced in area last week and they didnt know what to do, just sat in the corner for a long time and didnt venture out much. And holy cr*p, getting them out there

I made my older son help to take them back in. They still dont trust me, I hope some treats will change that.

My 7 week olds have lost a couple feathers... and oh yes the bumping chests, and eye contact I have all of that.

Will they molt soon and look funky?

I'm afraid still to let them in to the yard... how would I catch them all????

My teens are 8 weeks now, and they are my favorite ones to watch LOL. I have about 30 of them. Then I have 21 4 week olds, 6 week olds, and a batch hatching as we speak.
