my chicks are now about 7 weeks old I think. We live in Michigan. Any suggestions on when I can move them outside safely? They are just itchin for more space. Three reds and one unknown bantam. Thanks!!

Thanks! I had them outside for a few hours today. If no rain tomorrow I’m gonna try to put them in the hen house and see what happens.4 weeks ago.
Put them out for a couple of hours, bring them in overnight, put them out a couple of hours longer, bring them in over night, and then leave them.
At that age they should be perfectly fine, if you just took them outside and was done with it, but some people are a bit nervous about it.
Make sure they can get out of the wind. I like a shelter inside my run, along with the coop. You might have to help them get into the coop a couple of nights, but they should figure it out.

Night time is probably 36 or so as a low. They have feathers.. they should be fine unless themes are extremely cold...
