Teenager asked for chickens

When she leaves the house in 2 years, they will be your chickens. It’s a lot of work so I would ask yourself... do you want chickens? That means getting up every morning, rain or shine, warm or freezing - to do chicken chores. It means keeping good bio security constantly and having medical treatments on hand for emergencies. It means predator proofing but still dealing with heartache when you do lose one. It’s a ton of work and IMO a teenager isn’t going to want to give up a weekends with friends / get up at the crack of dawn to take care of chickens or deal with an emergency. I would say no unless YOU want chickens and are prepared to deal with all that comes along.
