Found this in the nestbox today, smallest egg I've ever seen!

We have some 14wk old bantams I bought at the feed store this spring (not sure what breed, except the silky she's obvious). Could this be from one of them? Seems pretty early for them to be laying already.

Or is it a fluke from one of my RIR's or Delawares?

I haven't cracked it open yet to see what's inside -- wanted to show my 6yr old daughter when she comes home from Grandma's tomorrow. Back when the chickens were just "chicks" she was CONVINCED they would be laying teeny tiny "jelly bean" eggs in the brooder and checked for them every day . . . now I can tell her I found one!

Could be from the bantams, looks to be the right size.

My older birds lay weird shaped eggs here and there, but they never get smaller....you never know though!

You should see the Serama pullet eggs! They are like the size of your fingernail! Cute little egg!!

I love it! My kids loved it when we had quail. I would fry up five or six eggs for each of them. The BEST fun at breakfast! Sure hope you daughter enjoys it! And that you enjoy the memory of her reaction! Kids and chickens are cool together...
