Could you post pictures of the parents? If the father is single-barred he could produce solid offspring (1/2); if so he would be darker than a standard cuckoo.

Hello! She had access to both Cuckoo roosters so either one could be the father. My hen is one of the two SOLID black ones!

Now then. The one on the left is single barred, so half his chicks with black hen will not be barred. Both appear to be mixed on their e-loci, and therefore it is difficult to determine exactly what offspring they will throw; extended black from the hen is dominant, but will often show leakage from the other.
