From what Im reading these are really old world quail, the Browns are? The Egyptians had them? So what is the oldest type of Quail?

I think it is coturnix because some people call them the bible quail.

WOW.. how kewl is that? And they are the one quail still trying to take over the world LOL.. Im still trying to get over being fertile at 6-8 weeks.. dang, my heritage RIRs are just starting to look like chicks at 6 weeks. My rabbits aren't even weaned at that age.. Thats something to wrap your brain around.. ya know.

Yep, the birds are not the same as they once were. Since then they have been domesticated and such.
