Tell me about your sweet gentle roosters!

This is my boy, Maude. He’s the only roo from my original flock that avoided the axe ( out of 7 others ) because he’s such a good boy. Never flared, bit, postured, or flogged anyone in his 2yr existence and he’s the top cock. Boss of the flock. Good with the ladies and chicks, so I definitely lucked out with him. Recently saved a polish hen from a juvenile bald eagle too.
He looks cute! Is he an easter egger?

I was going to order some ladies his breed but he died before I could do that. He didn't mind but I think my hens very much minded.
Aawww. How old was he? I have a cream Legbar - can’t imagine a Brahma on top of her… I wonder if size (or rather weight) was the reason my flock never warmed up to my BB roo. They were just trying to get away from him - even though they were all dual purpose LF hens.

Some of my big babies. I have more then these gentle roosters.

This is Ludwig, my Black Langshan rooster who just turned 1.

He's fairly good with the ladies, gentle around chicks, and has never made the slightest aggressive move toward me.

He's very tall, but not as heavy as a Brahma. Some of the hens are getting a bit naked, but neither he nor Ramses, the Blue Australorp, are rough with them. Just normal wear.

Speaking of Ramses, at 8 months he's quite well behaved too and the two fellows are, at least so far, getting along well.

I don't make pets of my males and I make a point of walking through them regularly. I don't chase them or in any way attempt to interfere with them, I just *happen to* have something to do on the other side of the pen beyond the rooster and I make him move out of my way as I approach instead of going around him.

I am not part of the flock pecking order. I am the giant who brings food and I want them to treat me like a horse or a cow or a force of nature rather than a chicken.

He was a little over a year when died, he was at least a third bigger than his ladies. He only liked my australorps and Columbian wyandottes though, wouldn't touch the barred rocks and couldn't catch the sussex. I almost ordered another brahma but our ground here is just too hard on their feathered feet.
