Tell me if you think this would be good as nest box material...

    reason I'm looking for a mat-type thing to put in there is because I'm worried they aren't tall enough inside and I don't want to take up much space on the bottom with straw or hay... but on the other hand I want a soft cushion for the eggs so they won't crack.

    These mats would fit inside the nest boxes perfectly and they appear to be long-lasting. Do you think they would be suitable?

    It ought to work fine! I'm just wondering what the hens will do to it. You know how they like to scratch around in their nests!
