This may not seem like something very terribly important to some of you.... But for me this was like a major milestone.....
I voluntarily talked to the man of my dreams.
I know, I know....
But I have never before gone beyond the "Hi, how are you" deal. I've "known" him for a little over 2 years (in other words, known of his existence, been in the same places at the same time every once in a while, etc.), and only a maximum of 4 times ever said hi.... So today I went to the store where he works as a cashier, and got brave and went to his checkout. I think he was surprised that I talked to him, because it took him a moment to answer my question, and there was an ever so slight hint of astonishment on his face. BUT I'M SO HAPPY I COULD BURST!!!!
I was able to train my border collie mix, Zoey a couple tricks today. How to: jump over obstacles, sit pretty and I got her to be comfortable carrying a can of soda in her mouth. (I am eventually going to teach her how to grab items from the fridge and bring them to me.)
Went to visit my parents today, got to learn to make bread..Dad was an awesome teacher!
Another good thing, as I posted on my FB, I am ON strike! Got a forgetful hubby and daughter that wants a live in maid. As much I hated a messy house, I have to sit on my duff doing NOTHING! Nope, not going to look for hubby's keys, his tools simply because he forgets or misplaced them somewhere. Let's see how long it will last! (itching wanting to clean up but gotta stick to my guns this time!)
My DH said I could start looking for a puppy! We have a 6-yo shepherd mix that is the best dog I've ever had. We want her to 'help' us train our next dog, before she gets too old. I got laid off from my job a couple weeks ago, so it's the perfect time for me to work with a puppy. I saw the CUTEST shepherd/husky pups on petfinder.com - sent an application, hope I get a call!!!
All of our pets have either been rescued by us or have adopted us.
