Tell me something GOOD that happened to you today.

I met a nice guy who does a variety of mechanical types of jobs here and there. He's long-time resident, kind of odd, but extremely intelligent. He's amazed "nobody" has told me about the local events, such as the Wednesday night hamburger nights at this one restaurant, or the various community newsletters (well, I don't get my mail up here!), that of COURSE you have to power wash or sweep off the pine needles on an asphalt driveway curling up hill. No traction on wet pine needles. I pretty much already knew that.

Anyway, he's gonna bring by the subscription info for the local rags and a couple copies of recent issues. And he checked out the under carriage clearance for my Toyota RAV4 to see if it would make it down some roads to the nearby river. So "nearby" it's within two miles. Beautiful to watch at high water now, necessary in the summer to cool off and twice as beautiful.

It was really nice to talk to somebody else who is a long-time resident of the area and also made to feel extremely welcome. He said, "When you retire, you'll meet lots more locals out here." Plus, he thinks I ought to contact a local co-op, because he thinks it would take every single one of the eggs I had available.

Yes! Please share the recipe! Years ago I had a spicy peanut stew at a restaurant. It was delicious but I never tried making it at home.

We had a short break in the rain this afternoon and the chickens were able to free range. Turned over some garden soil for them. Hard to shovel with hens standing between my feet, on either side of my feet and on the spot I am trying to lift up. They packed themselves silly.

Fresh snow on the hillsides. Spotted the first hummingbird of the year this morning!

You are quite possibly the most entertaining person on BYC. Your writing is so descriptive, I can see it.

All you older folks can laugh at me, but a boy texted me first.
