Tell me what you think about this rooster please? Ermine Ameraucana?

Considering purchasing an Ermine Ameraucana rooster for breeding. Can people with more experience tell me about this rooster and if it is a true Ameraucana? Should it have a better muff and beard? If he is a decent breeder can I use hens with excellent muffs and beards to improve this trait going forward?

He is not an Ameraucana, since he doesn’t have a beard. A beard is incompletely dominant. Typewise he is pretty close to an Ameraucana and since Ermine is still a project at this point he might still be worth using, if he has the blue egg gene.

So what your saying is if I paired him with good stock hens that have excellent beards and muffs I could use him for breeding?

I'm
It’s all up to you
Asking if that is what I could do to overcome the fact that he is missing the beard and muffs? I am just beginning to really understand very basic knowledge with color genetics. But have zero comprehension of how the beard and muffs traits play out genetically.bis that difficult to breed in or fairly simple?

I am doing a project where I use a Dominique to introduce better barring to cuckoo d'Anvers so I definitely think it is possible to use a non bearded bird for a bearded project.
Also- does everything else except the beard/muffs look right otherwise?
Yes

Yes
Thank you for your input. I went ahead and purchased him. I'm thrilled. His pictures did not do him justice and he is stunning in person. Glad I got him. Really appreciate your input. 😊

Cackle hatchery has Ermine ameraucanas
Purchased one today. I try to buy locally when I can. I don't really like shipping chicks/birds even eggs for that matter. It's just too much of a gamble for me, ESPECIALLY when a day old is 25$ plus and 12 hatching eggs are running $120+ . No thank you. I ordered chicks from Meyers this year. 47 chicks. Lost 16+ of them within 5 days. And of course it was the pullets I purchased not the bargain assortments. That's how it always goes though. 🤦
Plus I intend to breed so hatchery birds are not exactly what I'm looking for as far as quality either..
