with my roosters i will pet them occasionaly but also want them to respect me, so dont bsby thrm. of course my bling one and crossbeak on get extra attention!
If you do a pen with nothing but roosters they won't fight. It's only in the presence of hens that their hormones kick in and they begin to become aggressive towards each other.I love roosters! I have five currently. Two with my laying flock, one in my silkie breeding pen, a cochin I have yet to find ladies for and a silkie that's purely a pet.
Naturally they're necessary if you want to breed but the two in my laying flock I keep just because I like them and they get along. Roosters are beautiful and in my opinion have the best personalities. It's a shame that most of them fight otherwise I would have more.
