Tell me your best horse stories!

I have never owned horses but over a half century ago my Grandpa Shook had a gelding named Blackjack that he used as a plow horse. Ole Blackjack was quite the escape artist. No matter how hard he had worked that day, he would always find a way to get out of the pasture during the night. Pa Shook knew that he would have to round him up every morning before going to the fields but he didn't seem to mind since the horse was such a worker. I recall sitting at the edge of the fields watching them work with great fondness. And then when Pa Shook took a break, we would sit under a shade tree and enjoy a snack of Vienna sausages and crackers while Blackjack ate from his feedbag. I still have Blackjack's last bridle and a horseshoe from him as keepsakes of those happy times as him and Pa Shook have long since departed this world.
