About Me:
I am a mom to five wonderful children, ages 23,22,20,19 and 16. Three girls, two boys. I am a mother in law to two great son in laws, both in the military and on deployment now.
I live on the edge of a VERY small town in southeastern MN and my days are generally pretty quiet. Its beautiful here. I am in the process of buying an old fixer upper farm.
I am quite shy around people in person.

My BIG blessing from God: my husband & I tried for 8 years to get pregnant. Hard time. My husband & I agreed to pray Hannah's prayer together for over a year. (Backstory: Hannah in Bible had no child. Prayed earnestly for one, promised to dedicate him to God. God gave her a son, she named him Samuel, which in Hebrew means "God has heard my prayer".)

So, we finally got that nudge from Him to adopt (BIG nudge; another story). We knew if adoption was God's plan for us, that our child would be coming down the "pipeline", so to speak, when we got that push to move on it.

Exactly 9 months later, our child came to us. But God gave us another present; a beautiful confirmation. He came to us named: Samuel. The young birth mother, who had no idea of our praying Hannah's prayer together nightly, named him that. Again, Samuel means "God has heard my prayer." I cry every time I write or speak of this...still.

I decided to have the fun family portrait done this year to send out for Christmas instead of the same old, same old we always do. Kids had a ball. Even the hubby thought it was fun!

I listen to a ton of motion picture soundtracks both instrumental and vocal, but I also enjoy celtic, new age, pop, rock, classical, country, musicals (Phantom, Cats, High School Musical *eek* etc.)... if it's got a good beat and the "singer" doesn't sound like a dying cat, I'll go for it.

About Me: Nothing real exciting about me. Wife to a U.S. Marine for 12 yrs in January. Mom to 2 boys, 10 & 8. I enjoy the quiet life with occasional trips to town to go shopping. I love yard sales and thrift stores and I hate going to the mall. I love to read, I get wrapped up in the story and can't stop until I finish the book. I attend college part time pursuing a major that is still unknown! I don't have a lot of friends but the ones I do have I have had for years. I am more of a sit-in-the-back-of-the-room-and-watch-people kind of person, I am not very outgoing and tend to stick with what is familiar. DH is the opposite of that. He is way more adventurous than I. I can't stand fakers,attention-seekers, and liars. My brain just can't wrap around the fact that someone would want to be like that. I could go on, but I think that's good

I absolutly love the picture of you and your family, those pics are fun. I tell my DH, our family should have one made, blow it up, put it in a fancy frame and place over mantel. What a laugh for everyone to enjoy.
