Tell your 'what the heck was that thing?' scary story

To have a nightmare, one must first be able to sleep..

My advice is don't go to sleep...things, bad things, hide in
the darkness of the night...

Unseen...unheard...

Did you see on the news tonight about that thing that was hiding in the closet? Or was it under the bed? can't remember, but it was SPOOKY!

Thank you, I've dicided to sleep with my closet doors open and the closet light on... And under my bed Really? I learned its much safer to just jump and have four or five foam cution things on the top

Oh yeah...sleep with the closet doors open and the light on...
THATS a really good ideal...

The squeaking of the closet door is often the only warning you
get that whatever's hiding there is coming...

Go on...leave the door open...leave the lights on...you won't hear
a sound. You'll be asleep...and it's coming...

Hooey...I just read the whole thread...I'm scared OUT OF MY WITS. And then my dog starts scratching at the door to the den (though this has a good explanation - she likes to sleep on the comfy chair) and then I'm SCARED EVEN MORE.

But I couldn't go to bed without telling my story.

It was the end of 2006. I was in Rome, Italy with my family. We were visiting my brother, who was studying there. We were literally IN the city, it was quite an experience. ANYway, my sister and I shared a bed, while my younger brother slept right next to us on his bed. I had been listening to music to try and get to sleep, but I just put the CD player down. Suddenly, I felt this panic. It was physical as well as mental; my chest and neck tensed up, and my stomach froze. I felt so unnaturally scared. I had to get up and walk about, trying to relieve the near paralyzing fear I felt. After a horrible 5 minutes or so, the feeling gradually started to go down, and I went back to bed.

The next morning, we heard that Saddam Hussein had been hung the evening before. I pondered all day, and came to the only visible conclusion:

I felt his fear.

I don't ever want to feel that way again....

I knew I knew where that town was...Bolivia, North Carolina.
I was there once, a few years ago.

You're just outside Boiling Springs, isn't it? Just a few miles...

They never did find out what happened to those girls, did they?
You know the story don't you, Chickengal? You know what I'm talking
about....those six girls..found dead in their bedroom, closet doors open,
lights on...
