Temp swings and rain

Ok I live in NC and the temp yesterday was 71 now its heading down to 40 and raining. I have them in the covered area right now and a few are staying in the coop but if they get damp what should i do? I worry they will get a cold or something.

They'll be just fine. They're kinda like kids, they're more resilient than you think they are.

I have a cold hardy bunch but I see you have silkies. I'd err on the side of caution. High and dry is the safety motto for chickens!

We've had swinging temps here too, but far colder of course. Another storm on the way- I hope it didn't come from you!
