Temperament of EE Chickens?

Mine is a little fiery but I think she's got got her princess personality. She follows me and comes when called and lets me pick her up but she doesn't cuddle or anything. She was even cautious as a young chick. She's a great bird though and really protective of her chicks.

Our EEs are super friendly, follow us around, eat from your hand, jump on your back when you are bending over etc.

Pretty colors and lay nice big eggs.

Her from today w/ her chicks.

She's my baby but she's definitely got an attitude. It defines her though, she's a great bird. A bit flighty though if something scares her or a person comes over she doesn't know. She chases my moms dog though, she's definitely her own boss haha.

My experience, and I've had a few over the years is that they are not aggressive, are sort of skidish, aren't high on the pecking order and quiet. I like them, no drama, try to stay under they radar, not trouble makers, make friends with new flock members easily.

I forgot to include that of the ones i have, they do not mind being enclosed for the winter. They do the usual complaining if the weather's bad and they can't come out, but then they settle right down. The other ones pace and get aggressive if they don't get out every day. They are free fed, so hunger is not an issue; the other breeds are just more active and get bored easily. I have seen "real" banty americanas at auction, and they seemed more flighty compared to the EE's there. Mabie the more pure to the americana bloodline the more wild?

That sounds like my boy, whom I suspect is part EE. He entertains himself so well when he is confined or when I let him out and he's by himself in the yard. I raised him alone, since his StepMama and sib tried to peck him to death, and he's never seemed to mind being solo. When I tried to bring in a mate, she was noisy, and he and I were both relieved when we took her back outside to join the flock. He seems quite contented being an only child. He will socialize with the other hens, now, and chase them, and such, but he has no problem being alone or with just me. I think he realizes he's a very special chicken.
