We purchased an ISA Brown chick for Easter, and normally keep it from Easter until the end of summer/mid fall in a pen outdoors. I would like to know the what the temperament of this breed once they become older. Thanks!

So glad you found us.

Do you have other chickens?

Chickens are social animals and don't like to be left by themselves.

Most Isa Browns that I've seen have had a nice calm temperament.

For the first six months they are a little skittish. After that they are calm. Mine can be easily picked up for inspection by dropping a couple sunflowers on the ground by my foot then leaning over to pick them up. If you breed ISA hens and a ee roo you will get surprisingly beautiful chicks.
Why do you get rid of a pullet just as it is about to start laying?
