I've got a forced air, semi automatic incubator, I'm just wondering if someone can help me out here. The humidy is around 40% and 45%, there is no water in there, is it fine like that? Other question is the temperetature is between 37.5 and the incubator switches of at 40, is it fine like that? Been running the incubator for about a week with no eggs in to see if I can stabalize it. Any info whould be appreciated. Thank you

The humidity is fine, but 40*C is too high. 37.5 is perfect. I personally aim for 37-38*C. Turn it down a bit and try to get it to switch off at 38*C if you can. If it drops a bit lower than 37.5C it's fine. It may delay your expected hatch day a little bit though.

On a side note, I noticed you're also in SA. Nice to see more of us on here! I'm in the Eastern Cape.

Hi, dis lekker in Suid Afrika, ok, I'm going to switch it down a tad now and see what happens, I'm getting eggs on Sunday, want to put them in on Monday. Thanks so much for your advice and input.

Was jare terug in die Vrystaat gewees. Mooi wereld.

See if you can get it a bit lower before you set them. What breed(s) are you hatching?

I have in my styrofoam still air some austerlops and I want to hatch "kakoeke" in the forced air incubator, lol, don't know what you call those chickens in English, what do you normaly hatch?

Potch koekoek? Those are nice chickens! Australorps are lovely too. They lay well, they are hardy... I hatched some RIR and some mutts, just to keep my broodies busy!
