Hi everyone, I'm currently incubating eggs for the first time, and I'm trying to do it just right. I'm using a homemade incubator, too, so I really want to be careful. Yesterday I made a water wiggler with instructions from this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/164639/how-to-make-a-water-wiggler-pics . Well, the two thermometers is have in the incubator seem to be agreeing, and read between 99 and 100 most of the time. However, the one in the water wiggler is reading really low! It reads somewhere around 96.6. It's a thermometer made for reptiles, so it's supposed to be accurate to 1.5 degrees. What do I do here? I'm going to test the accuracy of the reptile thermometer by using another thermometer in the water wiggler and seeing what it says. So I guess the question is, if I find that the water wiggler really is reading that low, do I bump the temperature in the incubator up, or do I just leave it as is? Thanks for any help!
