temperature question.

If they are three weeks old and you have a lot of new ones, you may be able to keep them together. Is it still summer where you live? If so, why not keep them outside (at least here its sooooo hot, they'd be fine outside )

Ok so I built an incubator which for the first 3 days held temp perfectly at 102 humity 45-55 only prob is I cant put a lid on it. I have 2 thermometers (1 fish tank and 1 reptile) both read different ft one says 98 and rt one says 100-104 which one wld be best ti go by.

Ahhhhhh! I'm so worried about my eggs. For the first couple of days, the temperature was a couple points off and I just read that I have to take the pad from underneath the eggs so they can hatch on the base. I also read that I was supposed to stop turning them after 18-19 day which I didn't. I'm so angry that I didn't pay more attention and am really worried that they won't hatch at all or develop properly :'( with the first set off eggs I had. I got the temperature right but I carried on turning them until the day they hatched and I didn't remove the pad from underneath them. But only 2 out of 6 hatched. 2 of them were just yolk, 1 of them was a small embryo and 1 of them was a full grown chick in the position they get in before they hatched but his face was slightly deformed and he was dead.. I'm so scared about my new eggs?!?!?!

Ignore my last post.. I just candle lit all the eggs and only one if them has a chick. The rest are yolks, the chick looks really small though, like it's not developed.. I hope the chick makes it

Your chick may be small because the temp has been too low so it may just take a bit longer to hatch it may have just slowed the development down. I'm not sure what you mean by taking the pad out for hatching? And yes you need to stop turning so that your chick can settle in to the correct position for hatching. 3 days before the hatch day is best. Don't beat yourself up about it, these things happen and we all live and learn from our mistakes even the most experienced hatchers still have things to learn.

Thank you! Your comment made me feel so much better.. I've stopped turning them now and there's this soft pad that's under the eggs and it just said that I should remove that so they can hatch on the base.. I'm not sure why but I removed it anyway, how long should I leave it before turning the incubator off?x

Hi how is it going? I would leave till at least day 25. Then candle again to see if you can see any movement.
