I'll get chicks in November. I have a temperature sensor that will turn lamps on/off to keep temp at the desired setting. I was planning to run with an infrared light but now I am having second thoughts. Is the sensor going to read the temp correctly off an infrared lamp? do I have to cover the sensor (basically a thick wire spiral) with cloth? Anybody have experience with this problem?
