So I have a small group of 6 week chicks and a couple 2 yr hens. Will the younger ones move to layer feed 20 weeks (breeds are Australorp, Rhode Island Red and Wyandottes).

As far as temporary housing, is there something simple to put two Dominiques in that will contain them for up to a week until their coop/run can be dismantled and moved to a new house? (We can't free roam) There is a smaller moveable coop but the chicks will be using it.

Photo of my favorite chick, Gold Laced Wyandotte. Hard to photograph.

How about one of those pet pens? We use one as our broody jail.
They aren't too expensive, just be sure to get the XL one. They have a zipped cover and bottom so you can take the bottom out. Those other things are other "temp pens."

These come in handy a lot of times!
