Ten month old JG pullet with wry neck

JGs normally have no predisposition to this, but I can find nor feel any injury on her. I wonder about genetics though because she is a hatchery girl and thus her heritage is unknown. But, seeing as my 14 other chooks are good, including my 2 other JGs, I really don't know if it was injury induced or if she herself may have a natural vitamin deficieny due to genetics. Yet another mystery, neurological or physical.
These things are mysteries until there is a necropsy in many cases.

It is good that she is getting better

Update: She laid her first egg since this began and is holding her head up again! She still has a slight "twist" pattern in her feathers and will keep it corkscrewed down when resting.

My question now is, how long should I continue the quarantine/med routine before putting her back outside?? Will she always need extra Vitamin E and B1 from now on?

You could probably start placing her in a dog crate with food and water inside the coop to start some reintegration. It great that she is doing better. I have a rooster who sleeps and rests with his head curled under him. It has been going on for over a year, but he doesn’t have wry neck symptoms when he is walking around the yard and pecking at grass and food or drinking.

She might always have a weird kink to her neck but laying an egg is a sign of health!

Eggcessives post is a good thing to do

The only thing I'm nervous about is this happening again as soon as I put her back in, as I still do not know if it was deficiency or injury induced. How much longer do I need to give the Vitamin tabs? Thanks for the guidance, obviously it has been tremendously helpful!!

It won’t hurt to give the vitamins for another week. If you are feeding a balanced diet in her feed, she should be getting what she needs to prevent a deficiency.
