Thank you everyone. It's her right foot. There is some purple dye left over from an antiseptic spray - ignore that! She can stand unaided for a while, but as soon as she moves, her leg gets left behind. She does have some strength in it but not enough to get the hock round and under her completely. The scab is now tiny and I'll keep giving her antibiotics until it's gone completely.

Sorry to hear about your girl, I hope you can get her feeling better again.
You had said she couldn't walk at all but now she can stand so I would think that's a bit of an improvement. We recently went through leg issues with one of our ducks but the vet was never able to figure out the cause. We did warm water soaks 2x a day and set her up a cozy area with food and water so she could rest and wouldnt have to move around to eat or drink.
Our vet also perscribed Meloxicam for pain and inflammation.
Is she able to move her foot normally when she is in the water?

Very important thing you said about setting your duck up so she could rest @Runner duck mom. I have Runner right now in a make shift pen because she was limping. She can still be with her family but she is limited in how far she can walk so she gets to rest her leg. This is very important part of the healing process @motherofmorethan4.

No I think she has lost the strength in her tendon around her hock. She stand fine but it's when she moves forward that she can't pull her foot under her. Same when swimming so she goes around with it behind her. She rests all day, when not doing "physical therapy"!

I'm sure she really enjoys her PT time, it gives them the freedom to move around, splash and clean up a bit.
I think it's fantastic you are taking such good care and trying to help her recover.
It started quite similar with our girl, she had a small limp and a few days later she was laying down with her leg straight out behind her (did not move it while swimming either)...she could still stand but eventually lost the use of her other leg as well. The vet did xrays but couldn't find anything so I'll never know exactly what the issue was.
I truly hope with a bit of rest and TLC she is able to gain mobility again.
