Lol you sound like me... I always have the money planned for something before I even get it.

Roosters tend to sell very well (which can be scarey) and believe it or not... bantams sell VERY well. The best sellers are always silkies and Polish. Any healthy bird there is bound to get notice and most likely bought. Most people don't come to browse. They come with money in their hands.

I think you would get that out of them. I know one guy sells polish there for $25 and rakes in four digits every weekend he is there. I think I'm into the wrong breeds! lol. Just kidding... next year the fad will be something else. Last year it was Welsumers this year Polish (bantams too) and next it will be... DELAWARES! (right?)

Darn, i wish I had some Polish to sell! I have neat colors in the bantams. Porcelain, Gold Neck, Mottled, Gold Laced.....nice and flashy. My mille fleur cochin boys are pretty flashy too, maybe they will sell well.

Oh yeah... anything different gets noticed. I bet you'll do well! I can't wait to meet you tommarrow morning... btw I'm trying to make room so I can talk to you more about that rooster. I think he would make a good project bird.

I actually sold the rooster! In a trio with the blue and splash girls. He should be leaving next week.

I'll be there in a silver dodge ram, 2 large metal dog crates full of birds plus a few plastic carriers (with roosters) set aside. Young chick, can't miss me

Fnky- yes. Welsumers were THE thing last year so I'm sure their are tons of people who have them and maybe want some new blood.

Nella... lol young chick. lol. It's ok about the rooster. I let fate decided somethings for me and all the things that happened that kept me from being able to get him when I did, I guess, happened for a reason. I got my hands full anyways, obviously. lol

I was re-watering everyone just now and I think I'll sell two pair of light sussex - about 3-4 months old. I bought "Coronation/light sussex" split eggs and ALL of them hatched and ALL were light... I think I got scammed. I wanted the coronations because I was going to breed them and sell a dozen hatching eggs for $75 flat - the prices were getting rediculous and I wanted to drive the costs down (while making some money myself, of course). But... alas, the ones I got from the breeder hatched two that died in the first week and these "splits" were just lights. Oh well. I was just trying to be a bit of a meany anyways. I think $300 for 6 eggs is a bit egotistical when people just are inbreeding somone elses stock... let's not get into it. I'm not talking about everyone selling BTW there were (maybe still) were some around in certain sites that didn't know anything about the breed and getting top dollar for hatching eggs that they admit are someone elses work and not show quality. Kinda irritated me. Thus, the idea to have a "buy it now" price of $75 and force them to drop prices or lose customers. Oh anyways....

I'll be there in a small black Mistubishi SUV. I am not sure what you call "young" but techniqually I'm still in my 20's (for now) so I guess I'm fairly young... especially compared to the group that is usually there. lol. (no offence, grandpa) Me or my chicken helper will be wearing a BYC shirt while the other will be wearing a shirt with a big Delaware rooster on it's back.

That is what we do when we are meeting "online friends".

I'm the same kind of "young". Gonna be 29 in less than two weeks.....yikes.

No idea what i'll be wearing, but just look for the other "young chick" there LOL. Probably either some capri pants a t-shirt or a long flowery skirt and white shirt. Those are my cool (as in not hot) clothes

are you sure the splits don't need to be bred together to create some light and some coronation? Like a split lav has to cross to a split lav to get some pure lavs?

OH! Speaking of clothes!!! you reminded me... where shoes that can get dirty... especially if it rains. They have beat that grass down to mud since they are even out in the rain trading. Just some heads up info.

(and I'm just a tad older, so I guess it is ok to call myself "young"... I feel like I'm no longer able to use it as a self-decribing adjective

There is a roof. You'll find that no one will fit under it. Prepare to be swarmed.

It's just past the Lost Sea for you. You'll go down a hill after the Lost Sea turn in ... at the bottom of that hill there is a road to the left (comming in from Sweetwater). It's RIGHT THERE. It's just a lot next to East TN Feed & Seed with this outdoor pole shelter on it. I have seen the first person there in the WINTER at 5am before, so chances are you won't be the first one there. I don't know what some people are thinking or when they sleep.

I'll be there at 6:30. Trust me, if I organized this thing it would be more towards 11... but I don't. I guess the guys with game cocks like to catch them in the dark. IDK I'm not into that kinda thing.
