I got one of HBuehler's barred today and she is a sweety. The ladies seem to not be that upset and all is well.
After seeing her set up I wish I had more room.
I'm very jealous of how great her dogs are around them as well.

Thanks again- I appreciate the new bird and the tour!

Glad she's fitting in

They are real sweet...it was that sweet nature that hooked me on the one breed I really didn't plan to have very much of.Who would have thought a Jack Russell would be a good dog around chickens

We lost our Silkie hen yesterday after a long fight so now I have a roo..I need to find him a new home or get more ladies so I think it's time for a new home..he's listed now on the BSA list I have

Karen, do you need a gentleman friend for them? I have a particularly pretty and gentlemanly EE boy that has to go (i've got 3 and only need 1). i hate to send him off to freezer camp since he is a nice looking bird, so i'd love to find a home for him. interested?

ps: if you want to see him check out my chicken blog. there are several pictures of him in the Mr. Easter Egger Pageant post.

Thanks, but no. When I started with the chickens, I always said I wasn't interested in hatching eggs, so didn't want a rooster. They're beautiful, but my ladies don't seem to mind being little spinsters. I appreciate the offer. Surely someone would want him.

bibliophile birds, I hope your chickens got to shelter before that hail storm hit a few minutes ago. Mine stood down there in their covered run (it's a tin roof) and just looked bewildered. Bet they wondered if the world was coming to an end. Soon as it let up, they ran back out through their little tunnels to their tractor. I think they were eating the hail.
