Chillin' - Yes, I'm the mom. No reason why you should have remembered. Did you end up gettin up an order of the organic feed? Keep an ear out for anyone that may want my little Silver. I wish some one would have gotten that picture. Stacy and I saw them later going down the highway. What a hoot:)

I'm getting ready to work a little behavioral science experiment with my three roos... I've posted questions on a couple of different threads, asked at the TSC and Co-op, and hit up some elder poultrymen about rooster cohabitation. It's about 65%/35% that roosters will live fine together as long as they don't see hens. We'll see...I'm building a "bachelor pad" out at the barn and if this takes, I'll be much more willing to house extra roosters. I actually may start a sorta stud service where I post pics of my roos and if you want to add some color or quality to your flock, I'll lease their "services" for a week or two.

I'll be the Heidi Fleiss of poultry!!!!

The babies are doing very well, for the most part. We had 13 hatch out last week, but my eight-year-old daughter stepped on one and killed it yesterday. I really felt bad for her because it had burrowed itself into a tuft of grass and she never saw it. She brought it to me in a panic and there just wasn't anything I could do...it undoubtedly died instantly. Unfortunately, accidents can happen when you mix kids and animals, but it is essential that they learn how to interact, even if there are casualties.

I sold all seven of my month olds, so that leaves me with seven EE hens, three EE roosters, four Aussie pullets, 13 week-old EEs, 12 five-day-old EEs, and 23 RIR eggs in the incubator (they should hatch Friday). It's a pretty good start, but now that my kids are starting to show some serious interest, it probably won't be the end.

Here is (I hope) pictures of Silver. I am having a hard time figuing out how to copy my pictures from my upload. I usually don't have a problem with computer stuff. He was crowing like crazy this AM. He is 11 weeks old. I need to get him a home ASAP.

He is rather charming. Maybe someone will snatch him right up.

BB, I almost gave in when Sissy had a Blue Orp. Roo for sale. He was regal. I thought about it, talked to Hubby about it, and when I finally asked Sissy, he was gone. I took that as a sign!

EmmaLynn was trying to get one set up back in May. Everybody got busy and it never happened though. I'd love to have a June meet up. There are a TON of really interesting middle Tennesseans on here!
