terramycin

Speckledhen is right.

DO NOT USE ANTIBOITCS unless you are certain of a bacterial infectin or there is a high risk like an open wound, bite or so on.

Not only does it increase bacterial resistance to that drug in the birds so it is useless for them, it is a risk to YOU! If you use antiboitcs in your flock, nothing stops a resistance plasmid from moving from a good bacteria, to a bad bacteria, to a bacteria living on your skin, to that bad bacetria which some how gets into your nasal passages or hospitalizes you. Then, when YOU need an antibiotic, it wont work either! Less is more, and huilding a natural reistance is good.

Nobody wants to kill all bacteria, without the bacteria that live in our guts in balance, we'd have to eat something like 30 lbs of food a day beause we are so bad at digesting what we eat. Bacteria helps us.

Oh, I totally agree. I put together a first aid kit "just in case" and the terramycin is part of that kit. Just been fortunate there's been no illness. *knock on wood* The worst I've had to deal with is the little stunt Lilith pulled with the glass.

PULLLEEEZ! Ask them if they have any bridges to sell while they are at it....NO NO NO...all your babies need is TLC, a heat source, chick starter, and clean water.

Yes, no more stunts, please, LOL! Amazing how they dont manage to commit suicide with the stuff they'll pick up and ingest.
