Hello,
The worst thing that has ever happened to a new born was hurtful!
A chick hatched and all the chickens were pecking and running after it, picking it up by the neck and stuff!
This is the first year of my hens breeding!
I am terrified of holding new born chicks and I was frightened if I hurt it.
The chick was found lying down alive... I took all the hens out but 1. My bantam Lucy....
Lucy was the only one leaving the chick alone, I tried to pick it up so many times but I kept crying and panic and yelled at the older ones to shut up!
I have been in so much stress and I don't think I can handle breeding please can someone give me advice!

I don't know why the other chickens would be doing that, but I do think chicks are tougher than we give them credit for. I would take a few minutes to settle down, then get the chick and examine it for injuries. I hope it's okay!
