Ok let me start by saying I am not getting ducks right away (I do not have a pond) but in the future my new place will. I know I need to get Storey's guide to ducks but I would like to hear people thought and experiences as well.
So my questions:
What is the best set up for baby ducks and how long before they can live outside?
If I build a floating house for the center of the pond is this where they will lay and if so how do you collect the eggs (is there another way other than taking a boat out to get them)?
What is the best drake to suzie ratio and how do you tell the difference between the males and females? Do you have to wait until the are sexually mature?
I am interested in the Ancona duck. Any one have any experience with them? I have heard that they are nice and like to stay close to home.
