I thought of the name Smegal or Gollum, from Lord of The Rings. The ugly character who wanted the Ring so bad. I agree, if he doesn't put on the weight, he should go to heaven. If he thrives and survives, he has proven his right to live with the rest.

How about Dobby? He was the house-elf from the Harry Potter books. He was a sweet character, but still a homely little guy.

He was a lone chick that I hatched from some shipped eggs that had been badly mishandled in the mail. The air cell was detached and on the side. I think this crowded the embryo and caused the deformities. The crook of his wing was embedded into the side of his head (left a perfect impression there) and his eye never developed. I do not believe that the eye is even there. Someone in another thread said if an eye is missing altogether, it is a genetic defect. But I had to assist with the hatching and saw badly squashed this chick's head was up against the side of the shell. He is all there mentally and quite intelligent. He seems quite content so I see no need to send him on his way. The Madagascar games are quite ugly to most folks anyway and his deformities pushed him over the top.

Thank you for taking this bird under your wing. Sounds like it was our species that caused the problem and you are doing your best to mitigate for that by giving him a good life

Poor little tot. I'm thinking of the half-horse half-eagle creatures in Harry Potter... the one they stole was named Buckbeak. It suits him/her! (Hagrid called him Beaky for short.)
