I'm with ya on not culling him! I have my own version of your little guy. I got some narragansett turkey eggs and had a friend hatch them for me. Big mistake. The guy kept them on newspaper until I came and got them, about 10 hours after they hatched. I had 2 of 6 hatch, one died suddenly as poults sometimes do, and unfortunatly that was the healthy chick. The other chick is Forrest (as in Gump), who has badly deformed legs since birth. He can walk on one foot, although it's sort of balled up, but on the other leg he sort of walks on his knee, using his wings to balance himself.
He has always been such a trooper. He survived the transition from inside the house to outdoors much to my suprise. He eats lilke a champ, drinks, and gets around okay. And as long as he wants to keep going, I'll let him keep going. I feel like that's part of raising animals, stuff happens....they're not all going to be perfect. He's special. Oh, and did I mention spoiled? He lived in the house for 6 months, in my dog's wire crate, so he was part of the family. Probably going to pose a problem if he gets really big! We are assuming he is a he so far.
Although he looks a little rough in this pic, he was actually just beginning to get his adult feathers. He's feathering out beautifully now at 5 months, and still going strong.
