Still six. I'm leaving eggs in the incubator until tomorrow. When I remove the two chicks that hatched yesterday, I'm going to do a final candling and have someone with better ears listening for peeps.

AWESOME!!! So excited on your hatch and LOVE the bright yellow Surprise chick. Am starting the waiting game myself last night at 6pm started "day 18" so now its just waiting time.

Even at 6 you got a 25% hatch rate and that's pretty good for a first try IMO. You learned a lot and you have 6 little fluffy butts out of it. I'd say your test hatch was a success. Great job!

I moved the last two hatched out to the brooder. Cute, aren't they?

Anyway, could you all help me decide if any of these eggs could still possibly hatch?

I just took a picture of this one because of how wonky it looks. I don't think it is a good idea to open this one. You can see the patterns of the crap growing inside it.

No I haven't. I've heard it isn't much better than light candling, and can cause issues.
