As far as funtion, the plucker worked better than I thought it would. About a minute to get the body completely plucked, but the wings didn't completely pluck out as the guy I copied had stated. If someone had 10 or 15 birds, it would certainly be a viable method of defeathering. One I had the speed squared away, I would just attach the cord to a heavy duty power strip for my on & off. There wasn't that much spatter, but I did get a few feathers on me. If you had two people, one scalding and plucking, and another handing off birds and finish plucking, you could create a pile of birds rather quickly. Most of the feathers were in a 2x3 area.
Scalding was also very easy, and I used a pair of tongs to get a good dunk and swish. I just used my turkey fryer, heated to 150, added some dish soap, just a few drops. Gutting was 20 seconds, as I've done hundreds of ducks and pheasant. I'll be plucking pheasants from now on, instead of breasting them out.
