Um, hi. I have not read all 19 pages, so forgive me if others have said this already but here goes: there is now, under the thread where I normally hang out, a section marked Similar Threads, or something like that. All those threads are YEARS old, having had no activity since '09 or '12. I have no interest in them and I can't imagine anyone using this thread would, either. This is a total waste of space, so thanks anyway, but no thanks.

It really depends which thread you are reading at the time you look down there...

Which buttons show and which don't is something that's configured based on screen width. It looks like the button to insert gallery images isn't configured to be available when the screen width is narrow.

Interesting. It works with this one but not with others. I just use ctrl + to zoom in. Is there another way to do it?

Entering the Thumbnail link manually is impossible as you don't know the URL for the thumbnail image.

You can get the URL for the thumbnail by right clicking on the thumbnail and select copy image location.
