I was hoping to get opinions on the genders of these chickens. They are about 6 weeks old, tetra tints. I posted this thread when they were about a week old showing the difference in the feather development. I still kind of think the two who developed feathers first are hens and the rest are roos, but the more I look at them, the more confused I get. So, hopefully some of you more experienced chickeneers can give your opinion.

This is Bunny - Suspected hen (the other suspected hen looks exactly like her, and they usually hang out together)

This is Tails - rooster?

Curly - another suspected roo

Shadow - roo?

Sonic - roo?

The reason for thinking they are roos is mostly because they got their feathers much slower than the first one pictured (We actually have two suspected hens, but they look identical so I only showed one). The suspected roos also behave a little feistier, pecking at hands and such. There is not a lot of info in the Tetra Tints, other than the hatchery says that pullets will be "fast feathering".

Being that these are our first chickens, I don't know how much variation there is from chicken to chicken there is even among "fast feathering" pullets. So, I'm not sure if what we have are two fast feathering pullets and four roos who were slower (to varying degrees) to feather, or if some are pullets who just didn't develop as quickly. I was hoping by now there would be some more obvious clues to there gender that someone would be able to point out for me.

tails looks like a cockerel the rest i cant tell. i dont see many tetra tents

Yes, to me he definitely is starting to look like a rooster. The others, sometimes I look at them and think definitely a rooster and other times not so much. I had expected the roosters to have redder combs by now based on the pics in the Tetra Tint thread.

some of them have pink combs but lack wattles which throws me off a bit curly looks to be a pullet she has a pale comb shadow has thick legs which makes me want to say cockerel sonics comb is small makes me lean towards pullet...for the most part they all seem to have small combs except for tails and shadow...im bouncing back and forth to so i'm really no help sorry

I appreciate your insights, that's how I feel looking at them too. I was hoping that my inability to distinguish genders was due to inexperience. But if no one else can tell either, I guess I'll just have to wait a few more weeks to be sure. Thanks!
