Thanks Harley!  :)  You actually do have some future breeds I am interested in. If I can't source them closer to me I will let you know.

I am starting my coop next month - when it is warmer. :)  I am so excited!!  My nephew is going to help me build it and if he helps I can probably get my son to help too. :weee

Speaking of warmer.... how cold did it get for everyone last night?  We hit 15* here and I am shivering as I type this. It's 26* now. Drafty old houses are no fun in the winter! I had ice on the insides of my windows this morning. Boo!

I'm getting some Swedish Flower Hen eggs (I think) for Brynn's Blue to hatch for me. I may just get some chicks though. It will depend on what is easiest to source. There is a lady on here near Livingston that I am waiting to hear back from that has them.

Which breeds was you looking for I will be hatching out the blue Marans next month. And the isbars , legbar and a different blood line of the blue Marans the next month

Of the ones that you have listed the only one that is iffy for me is the Olive Egger. There is a lady near Bonham that has the Black Copper Marran and legbars that I want and she sometimes has OE's. She is almost a one stop shop for me. :)

I want to have black copper maran, crested cream legbars, Delaware, OE's and Swedish Flower Hens. I'm getting excited!

I think it's the same woman that I am buying my eggs from to hatch out the legbars, isbars, and the blue Marans chicks.

@harley1975 it sounds like you have a good thing going with your chicks! Do you sell them on Craigs list? We are moving to Lindale from Livingston. Haha, been "moving" for awhile now, been working on the house, then have to fence at least a small lot to hold the horses, build a couple of hoop coops for the hens and then maybe we can move in! I want to get Delaware chicks, but it will be a little bit because I have nowhere to put any right now. Do you have Delaware?

I'm going to get some Delaware eggs or chicks from someone (don't know who yet) on the "Delwares From KathyinMo" thread.

i have not run any on Craigslist yet cause I sell them to fast. I do not have any Delaware yet but could hatch out some for you if you would like me to find the eggs. The best way to keep up with what I have going is on Facebook here is the site https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jones-Farm/620216548090387

Heading to the auction today in Athens to see what they have. Not planing on picking anything up but who knows what they bring in. With it being cold not sure how many chickens show up for sell. With my bator being full for the next 2 weeks I can not get any eggs this time. I have 2 doz Blue Copper Maran eggs coming in 2 weeks. Out of this I am only keeping no more then 10 hens. I am looking for another doz so I can get a rooster from a different blood line. If anyone has Blue Copper Maran eggs in 2 weeks let me know.

Afternoon y'all. Newbie here. Almost finished my coop and will be ready for sone birds next week or after that. Looking for info or breeders who will part with some for a newbie. Me and the wife decided it's time to show the grandkids food and animals come from places besides the store. We are going with pygmy goats and chickens to start and maybe a pony by spring. This is gonna be a hoot! Live north of Ft Worth do if any places or people with chickens we can drive and keep the post office outta this! Besides might be nice to meet someone with the same interest and possibly get a mentor so we do his right!
