My homestead is in TN. And I think the same way tap tap tap, but it just does not work for me either. I always have several projects going on that way I get to choose what one I need to finish. Love it though.

Hey everyone..... I know I feel off the planet!!

I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you JellyBean for the email. Nice to know you are missed.
So a quick up date..... My granddaughter is now 1 1/2 and the love of my life, don't tell hubby. My oldest son is NOT getting married now and he is moving into a house next door to us once he gets it remodeled. He is still working in the oil business and is doing really good. My baby how ever graduates in May and then leaves for Navy Bootcamp July 14th. So I have now been promoted from mom to Navy mom and I am SO proud of him.

My chicken numbers have grown and decreased due to births, snakes and give aways. LOL
BTW, if you have a snake problem.... kill it and then burn it in a can of some sort in the coop and you wont have any more snakes for a very very long time. It does work.

I have had 2 hen go broody this winter and they have hatched 11 chicks..... black sex link, RIR, BCM, Silkie and Silkie mix I think. The first one I let her hatch some to see what kind of momma she would be and it was so exciting to watch. She was a great mom. The last 4 hatched last week and I thought I had gather up all her eggs but as it turns out Ms Puff, my Silkie had 4 hid out from me. They are so cute. I will post pics later. So NOW what do I want...... I want an incubator and I am trying to build one.

Has anyone here built one yet??

Don't know if you were looking for small or cabinent size

I have a old night stand that I am incuba-tizing. LOL I have seen the cooler ones but after all the research I am down to just making a few last choices and then I will be putting it together.

A friend of mine posted this on my facebook wall today and I just watched it.... I think I need to go change my clothes I laughed so hard I think I broke something. Let me know if the link don't work.

Ok so I said I would post some of my babies so here it goes....


This is Ms. Puff and her babies. They are my newest ones. She had hid these 4 eggs out from me and I didn't realize she was broody until she had been sitting on them from a couple of days. They are going to be interesting. Some have the silkie puff on the top and some don't. I have 2 roosters in this pen right now, my buff silkie and then this little guy.



yea I know I said little. LOL I had put him and another chicken in with the big birds and that didn't go over well at all. I intergraded them like I always do but the rest of the coop didn't take to this guy at all. In fact they managed to de-tail him before I realized what way happening. Good thing for first aid kits.

Next....My first set of winner babies or late fall.....


Madea is such a good mother.... she would make this very different noise when she was trying to teach them something or get their attention. It is such a blessing watching these mother hens. So Loving!!



Now this little one is the first egg Ms Puffy the white silkie laid. She just happened to lay it the same day I moved Madea into the Maternity ward so I just slipped it under her to see what would happen. This cute little thing is what happened. LOL The first pic is at one week and the second is at 8 weeks. Momma is white silkie and daddy is buff silkie.



The next are some updates on my summer babies




My polish at about a week old and then her now. She just started laying this past couple of weeks. I call her Phyllis because she looks like Phyllis Dillard to me. But she is not a camera happy chic.



My Crested Cream Legbar at about a week and her today. I still do not have name for her. It just hasn't come to me. I got a couple of ideas the other day from facebook friends but I just don't know yet. LOL Her rooster man was one of the ones that fell victim to the snake before he fell victim to my shotgun.

This is my BCM that a friend gave to me. He came with 2 hens and he is turning into a beautiful rooster I think. Now I am not an expert so that is just my humble opinion. LOL



So there you have it. Just a few updates and now you know whats been happening with me. LOL



Ok one more. I can't let my feather friends out do my Lovebug!

Hello everyone hope everyone is staying dry. I got me a new rooster he is a english splash Orpington. I am looking for Black Orpington hens,pullets, or chicks around Tyler or with in a 100 miles or so.
