Love how you put the nests on the outside!! Makes a lot of sense when you don't have room inside, and it's only used for laying anyway.
I need a compost bin. I'm still debating on when to put my deep litter in my raised beds. Some say put it in a compost bin and let it sit a few months, some say put it direct on your garden area.
I like my BAs. They are so pretty, specially with their combs/wattles starting to get deep red. Do you have a feed store that has been around for a long time? There is one in Longview, Horaney's Feed, has been there since I was 5 years old. They have chickes 12 months a year. Maybe you can find a Mom & Pop feed store that carries chicks longer than the big stores?
Why are you a failure? You raised them and taught them right from wrong. Once they reach adulthood, they can no longer blame us for their failures. What they choose to do is just that, their choice. There comes a time when they have to be on their own, either by choice or push. We can't bail them out forever. If we do, they will never learn to stand on their own feet.
What does he think? That you had your kids so that they can support you when you get old? LOL Kids just have no idea what life is like!! I hope he realizes that karma has a way of biting you in the arse.
Go have yourself a big cry, get all the hurt out of your system. You don't want these feelings to build up. Feelings like this can cause problems later on. Trust me, I know. My Dr. and I pinpointed my RA symptoms emerged after an almost break down I had over my son. It was the trigger that set it all off.
Thanks for the sunflower and squash bug links. I loved how he lit up when he used the vacuum. Something about men and motors, LOLOL
Maybe there is still hope that one day these young, "I know everything" kids will actually turn out ok!
No, but it sounds yummy!
Good news on the chicken front. I've been putting my chickies to bed every night, and it's starting to pay off. I went out last night to put them to roost, and about 7 were already up on the roost! yay! They are becoming big girls now! LOL I hope to have them all roosting by the weekend.
I gave them a new treat this morning. I bought a watermelon at Walmart yesterday. I cut it up this morning and took them the rind. They really don't know what to think of it. A few are pecking at it, so we'll see how it goes. I hope they like it. I've hated having to waste the rind since I've sold all my horses.
We got a little bit of rain last night. Supposed to have more in the forecast for this afternoon. Hope everyone has a great day!
Yea, what she said!!
