So I have big news..... Not really big news but big enough!
We can add hens singing the egg song, to the list of signs that my hen are showing! They have been doing that all afternoon and evening!! Have I said that already???

So who has raised orpingtons? I have a lavender one and a splash one and I was wanting some hints on early detection of roo or hen? Is there any special tricks for this breed??!

Here is what I got done today. :)

Not the best lighting... I'm going to paint diamonds on the squares that will match the door and outline them with brown.

I got my flag hung up too!

After I finished painting I picked the garden and mowed the back yard. When I was finished outside it was 8 something. I ate supper at 8:45 (had to clean me up first!). I was outside for 12 hours today.

Tomorrow I should be able to get the south side done and the rest of the front. Those posts took forever to paint! I need to finish mowing the yard too. This summer is going to do me in...

I hope I can get some grass in the front soon. I really hate all the dirt there. Maybe some Miracle Grow will encourage the existing grass to spread faster.

Hey that looks great !! Yesterday was a HOT day I almost over did it in that heat. I hope your staying hydrated while your working. I love the posts they look good and the diamonds will make them really pop!! I'm not sure what kind of grass that us but it you have runner growing up in areas where you have more grass you can take thoughs runners up and plant them in your dirt areas and they will grow. My Paw Paw use to do that all the time.

You are the ultimate worker bee!!!!
I just really looks great. How are things with Nathan? I use Scotts weed and feed on my lawn. I actually used it in the back yard with the chickens...just put some down where it was the worst and put a wire fence kinda thing around it and watered the heck out of it to get the fertilizer down in the soil and out of reach of the chickens.

I have 3 BOs. I'm pretty sure all of mine are hens. They do mature slower than my other chickens. Their combs are still small & pale.

Looks good! I put my flag up on Wed. I had to get a new one since my old one of 20+ years was getting worn and torn.

Look what I found today!

It's my 2nd egg, but the first from my "keeper " chickens! Whoever laid it had checked out 3 of my nests, they were all messed up. I guss she didn't like them, so laid it in the run. I put hay in 3 of the nests to see if they prefer hay over shavings.

Anyone else having trouble posting? The site keeps freezing and causing Chrome to crash. :( I have to post, then go back and add my pics.

I was watering my garden this morning and had some nosey girls wanting to see what I was doing.
