Here is Charlie at 2 mo. For the 2 mo anniversary, he took a day off and .. slept. He is now 2.5 mo, trying to roll over. His leg is huge as he is preparing for the upcoming World Cup.

Thanks LoveHen and ManyHens for your notes. Glad to see everyone made it here after huge storm crossing TX last week ... the storm killed 1/2 of my 2-3 mo chicks.

I saw this cafe shop. For me I had stayed away from beer, liquor since 15 yrs old. Last year I started to stay away from sodas and coffee too (now I am a good boy and a bit richer). So can I come into your cafe shop for... maybe the restroom ???
Well we also serve breakfast and lunch, daily specials on eggs and chicken!
BTW sorry for the loss of your chickens in the storms. Yor little boy is precious, I know you'll be glad to get him and his mother here!

O Hung, he is a big handsome guy! When do you think they will arrive?

I am so happy you are here. Harley could use some male companionship!!

I have a recipe to share (and it isn't for a sweet). :p I haven't made this yet but it sounds good. :)

@TexasLisa - How are you feeling? Did you get the ok to resume normal life from the doc?

Here are some shots from the garden. I am starting to freeze stuff and I have given away quite a bit too. I like to share with my neighbors. :)

This is what I picked the other night. I missed one day of picking beans. They are very prolific! I love my egg basket. It is perfect for the garden. Can't wait to use it for eggs too!

Zucchino Rampicante. It's a funny looking squash. Haven't eaten one yet. I also have yellow squash and 2 other kinds of zucchini and lemon squash, along with spaghetti squash.

My spaghetti squash. Taking over as usual, but at least this time it is using the handy panel and not taking over the garden. I can't wait for this fall so I can fix up the garden really nice. I'm going to get more of these handy panels to use. :)

Hi Sis ... how are your new chicken ... still surviving the dog. I read your statement upthere and remembered the incident when I went to a public restroom. As I sat down in my stall, the guy next stall started asking. Guy: Hello, do you need any help with your task? Me: I guess I am ok. No thanks Guy: Do you want to go see the movie tonight? Me: No I don't like movie Guy: How about I pick you up at 7pm, we have dinner and a romantic walk at the lake Me: Huh (Slamming the wall) .. Hey I am not your type, leave me alone or I call the cop Guy: Honey, let me hang up. Someone keeps slamming the wall. And we live happily ever after. The End.

Laurie, your garden is beautiful! My garden went 'kaput' after the rain. I will try again in the fall. So frustrating. That recipe is being printed as I type--yummy!

Doctor pretty much told me that there aren't any post-concussion do/don'ts. Take things slowly and oh, don't hit your head. I am doing better every day. Still a bit sound-sensitive and get woozy if I move too quick.

I have 'salted' a couple of dogs. I had never seen these before. They were BIG black dogs. My new flock is around 12 weeks old and for some reason are very flighty around me. Lena, last survivor of the original flock, gives me at least 5 eggs every week. I was sorry to hear you lost part of your flock. How is the new dog working out?

Lisa :)

New dog is growing, not sure if he contributed anything yet but he hasn't eaten the chicken ... yet. We are clearing the trees to get ready to electrify to the fence. The one we worry about is the 2 legged predator (visited twice already). I did lose some chicks but a friends gave me some last weekend too. Most of the newbie are Vietnam GaNoi, the naked ugly one, will have pix of them tonight.

Dr. Crane said .. you must wear helmet while working.

So yesterday I read a blog on Facebook about how dangerous temperatures over 85 were for chickens. Really? Haven't farmers raised chickens for centuries here in the south where 85 is just the start of high temps? Do ya'll do anything different to protect your chickens from the heat?

We take a 95 year old lady to church. She thinks I should 'bubble wrap' my head!!

Do you have security cameras set up?

Lisa :)
