I'm devastated, I've been crying ever since.
I feel like the worst person in the world.
So sorry this happened to you today!

A friend posted this on Facebook. I am skeptical about it but there is documentation to back it up. Really weird! Has anyone else heard of him?
I've never heard of that! What a weird story!

Guess what???? I have a rooster! I had a feeling one of my 'girls' was a rooster. He gave me a 1/4 crow this morning. His name is BW (Ken named him BW because he is Black and White). BW is an Ameracauna and is 13 weeks old. The Aussies are 11 weeks.

Congrats on the Roo! (I guess? LOL) He is pretty! and so are the rest of your flock.

Can you have a roo? If so, congrats! You can hatch out more chicks soon. :) Chicken math.... ;)

I can't believe how big your babies are already. They sure do grow fast! Very pretty flock you have there.

Isn't it? Do you think it is true? I think I will ask my mom about it. Maybe she heard about him. I'm sure he would have made the national news if this was really true.

It was a quiet day here today. We got a bit of rain (0.1") this morning. The fun stuff is supposed to come tonight and tomorrow. I got the house cleaned. :) I hate cleaning on Sunday but I was too pooped to do it yesterday. My arms are still a bit sore from all that scraping I did. :/

Hope everyone has a great week!

In this pix, the back feather is pointed .. indicating a male.

Yes, I can have roos. Thank you for the compliments. The store owner assured me they were all girls. I just looked at him with my eyebrow raised thinking 'O really???'. I was fine with all girls, but having a rooster is a bonus.

Hung, if that wind hadn't blown on that picture, you would have seen the droopy tail.

I will have to get pictures of the other 2 Ameracaunas and you guys can tell me if they are pullets or cockerels.

Ya'll have a great day!

Lisa :)

I love guessing!
I'm over on the Easter Egger gender board all the time. Lol.
I think I've gotten pretty good

Two things....

1) Is anyone else having trouble with the site loading? Ever since I updated my Macbook OS to Mavericks and subsequently got the newest version of Safari the pages on here take forever to load. I haven't had any issues on other sites.

2) This is what you've been waiting for.....

I baked this at lunch time today. It's still cooling, but smells really yummy. Fresh zucchini from my garden. :)
I made a few changes to the recipe....real mayo substituted for the Greek yogurt (need it dairy free), no nutmeg (I don't like it), and applesauce for the oil. I doubled the cinnamon since I didn't use nutmeg. Since I don't have dairy fee cream cheese I put the walnuts in the batter.
I can't wait until it's cooled enough to eat.

Good Morning!

Did anyone get some rain yesterday? We got a nice rain. I had almost finished mowing the field, when the rain hit. The lightning hit pretty close, so I called it quits. Hope to get the yard done today.

What do you think of my new pet?

I was coming back from the mailbox when I saw him climbing up the side of the house. That is the 2nd one I have seen in 3 years. He is a fairly quiet one. Doesn't get excited when I touch him. Pretty neat, isn't it???

Ya'll have a great day!

Lisa :)
