The goldish one with the black lacing around her neck is a pullet. You can tell by the patterning and even-ness of color.
So, on EE's, the males usually have "wilder" color patterns? I have one EE that has a larger comb than the other two. I'll try and take some pics this week and let you look. The goldish one with the black lacing around her neck is a pullet. You can tell by the patterning and even-ness of color.
The lighter one is confusing ,he/she doesn't have muffs..what color are its legs?
The darker patches on the wings aren't a great sign...
And if those are wattles growing in..

I love the way your thinking is going. I was so hoping Hawk was a pullet. She is so pretty. I would love to see some chicks out of her. The reason I thought Hawk might be a rooster is because of the pointy feathers around the neck.
Tawny is quiet. Her comb is getting redder, but so are the other pullets. If I have two roosters, I think I can handle that. I will have to check on the color of Tawny's legs. I want to say a light grey.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Roos have a lot more splotchy-ness lolSo, on EE's, the males usually have "wilder" color patterns? I have one EE that has a larger comb than the other two. I'll try and take some pics this week and let you look.
Pretty chickens Lisa. I'd hang on to them just to make sure they are/are not Roos.![]()
How old will they be? Are you picking them out or will they be shipped?Ok for those of you that are sexing gamers...... Ok I didn't mean for that to sound like it didLater this month I will be getting the following and I have no idea how to sex them....![]()
Buff Laced Polish
Wyandotte (blue, black, splash red)
sizzle/frizzle
I ordered light Sussex chicks but to my disappointment he discovered he didn't have any in the hatching he put out. So I told him I wouldn't mind getting Brahma chicks gold/blue Partridge or he could add another Wyandotte and a polish. I only ordered one of each but ordered 2 of the Sussex. Those are so sweet looking chickens.
I was trying to get a good mix of different birds and was praying they all won't turn out to be males. LOL So I am waiting to hear what he can do for the missing Light Sussex.
So, any helpful hints on sexing them??? I was told with my RIR that the ones with the white down on their wings or chest area will be roos and that was so right. I had two and they both are males.
So give me what ya got for my new set. As soon as they come in I will have pics up loaded for you. LOL
I love this game. There should be a price with these games, for who ever guesses correctly. LOL![]()
Is splotchy-ness a 'fowl' word????Roos have a lot more splotchy-ness lol
Where pullets aren't necessarily "boring" but there patterning and color is more even.
Roos are prone to the "rust" red color as well with dark red patches on wings usually indicating a male.
EEs are really fun to guess at, because each one is so different!
