I. am. in. love. WOW!!

Now I just need a LOT of money to work this into my house. I will need to redo the entire kitchen.... That will lead to redoing the entire inside. I mean I can't have a stellar kitchen and subpar rest of the house, right? I'd be happy with redoing just the kitchen....

Not going to happen in my lifetime. {{{sigh}}}
You are soooooo bad. I would love to have something like that.....SIGH..... Check this out: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/94364554664237641/ I could see this in red.

I love it! I'd love the 1930's house (fully restored) to go with it too.

:) Need help painting? I need help painting still, but your living room would take no time to do. we could knock it out in an afternoon. A nice light, fresh color will really brighten up the room and make it feel so much bigger.

Eh, Our lease is up in September, but I'd like to stay another year or 2.
If we renew I'll ask if he minds us painting.
It needs a paint job anyway...foundation issues have led to cracks in the paint.
Plus, if he doesn't mind chickens, I doubt he'll mind an update!
I'd really love a light slate or gray. Something versatile.
Mauve does NOT match with much.
Neither does our awful pink bedroom lol

Be careful with grey. A lot of them will turn out looking like lilac. We had that happen at our old house. Trevor was not happy! His room was supposed to be a light grey and everyone thought it was lilac. I had to warn people not to say anything! Need I saw we painted it a different color?

LOL!!
I've heard that!
My sister in law is dong her living room gray so I'll probably just see how that comes out, then steal her color

I'm also dealing with an internal struggle.
A coworker's dog had puppies that need homes: pit/lab mixes. I always joke with Josh and he always tells me no very quickly.
He didn't tell me no this time....
I should have known better, he's a pit lover.
He actually said "You know me, but it's got to be the runt!" Now I'm dealing with the fact that we CAN get another...but SHOULD we?
Watch me end up putting the pup in the run and letting the chickens have the rest of the yard...lol!

Maybe I shouldn't take everything at face value.  I had read that silkies can't get wet because they are vulnerable to the wet and cold weather.  Go ahead and laugh--sometimes my brain isn't working.

Lisa :)

No no please share any and all info no matter what. I'm sure there is a reason. I need to learn why! Lol

Can I "steal" this?
I think I need it :) Are those frizzled Polish?
I love the buff laced coloring

My Silkie Roo didn't act "rooish" at all, I had to go off physical signs. Post a pic! :)
We like them!

Mine STILL don't really roost at night. They all pile together..usually in little groups of 3.  My chickens are clique-ish I guess...."cluckish"! lol
And Silkies are ok, but I probably wouldn't get more. Lol. Unless she whips some skill out and surprises me.
I think I'm a LF kinda girl...
Congrats on the egg!! That's exciting!

And I have no idea why a Silkie can't get wet...someone should let mine know...lol

Yes of course you can steal it. Lol my kids call me that all the time and I told then that wasn't politically correct so I made that sign!! I think I need it printed out!!

Are those ceramic eggs thick?  I saw a dead snake on the road and it looked like it had eaten an egg. Someone went to great lengths to flatten this snake so the 'egg' was broken, but it was much thicken than a regular egg. I'd say it was about a 1/4" thick shell. I can tell it was hollow. Really strange.

Send the rain this way too!

Silkies shouldn't get wet because they don't have the coating on their feathers that sheds water. They soak it all up. Then they can catch cold.  A wet silkie is akin to a wet cat (especially the fluffy kinds).

See, take it at face value, there was a good reason! This I need to know. That's for the info!!! I just got my Silkie coop put to gather. Finishing it up today and I'll post pics. My baby's are being shipped today!!

This fall we are doing a MAJOR remodel of the house and the kitchen is a big part. But it will be nice when it's all done.

At the beginning of this year, my husband said we could remodel the kitchen. I had the paint, backsplash, countertop, etc. picked out. We somehow got sidetracked and are trying to get a new roof on. One of these days.....

I don't trust pits. I've read too many stories of them turning on their owners. One was a little 6 year old boy who loved his pup to bits. When the dog was 18 months old it attacked and killed him. The boy loved his dog and never mistreated him. He wasn't being trained for fighting. He was a pet. A pet that killed his 6 yr old master.

Maybe a mix is better though. I don't know. There could be inner conflict going on. Not that Labs are better. They are getting so inbred it isn't funny. They attack their owners too. Our friends' daughter had a lab that badly bit her owner (adult lady) in the face when she was petting him. She got a lot of stitches.

OK, I'll get off my soap box now.

If you get the puppy I would put it in the run. You won't have to worry about the chickens then. ;)

Is your Silkie alone or is it with other chicks? If it is in a group of other type of chicks is there another Roo in the group? If he is growing up in a group with another roo then he just may not be the dominate one.

My first group of chicks had two Roos and one is very out there and the other one is more quite. They are not silkies but that works like that in a lot if breeds.
I don't know just thinking out loud. Lol

I had a Rhode Island Red that was the dominate roo in the group but we just relocated him the rir was to aggressive for us....My silkie was one out of 5 and the older hens were with the rir and we recently just mixed everyone and the rir is gone now so hopefully my lil silkie roo will come out of his shell
